Textures in photographs

Do you like textures in Photographs, or do you prefer the classical photograph..? I'm curious to know what people have in mind about the subject..
For my part, it's a way like another to enhanced and create something new..it's a whole creation that takes a photo as a work basis, instead of a blank canvas. Photograph is not an aim but is a tool for me, a tool throughout my creativity does express itself..
